(i think this is the right forum for this post)
what book do you guys recommend for action scripting, i mean for learning, not for a general reference, because there are lots of aspects i have not yet explored and am looking for an explanation of each command.

no, this is not the right forums for it
it's the General Chat, so I will move it to there
and it's kinda common question here
and in my openion it's the Colin Moock's book
Action Script
The Definitive Guide
for Flash MX

It depends on your level. I second farafiro's suggestion as the best AS book out there. Robert Penner's book is also excellent.
On a beginner's level, though, these books are less accessible. I think that three Friends of Ed texts are helpful:
Actionscript: Zero to Hero
Foundation Actionscript for Flash MX
Macromedia Flash MX Designer's ActionScript Reference

I teach a little as well.
I work with three principles:
1. There's no point teaching somebody something complex if they aren't going to use it, because they'll just forget it.
2. Always work from the bottom up - that way, when you reach the top everyone is with you.
3. Teach by application - and make sure people understand not just how, but why.
The book I mentioned may not be stuffed front to back with experimental actionscript, nor is it written by a known Flash guru, but virtually every single example it gives involves some actionscript as applied to a real situation people are likely to want to use.
To that end, with my teacher's hat on, I am certain that someone who wants to learn actionscript from scratch is likely to achieve more with this book than they will buying one that is used daily by actionscript experts.
I'd recommend he buys one of those more complex books second once he's happy with most of the first (easy?) one's contents.
But hey, it's his money, not mine ;)

hehehee
I know it's not our money
and I - as I said - do own a copy of the book (beginner and Advanced) for Both Flash 5 and MX
but as u mentioned the two writers are not gurus, but the book is very good, specialy the advanced, and I've learned a lot from it
but before going on
have u read/got any of the Definitive Guide books ??

I have to second Collin Moocks if you have a little bit of a coding background. It has a reference section and a learning section. Very concise.
