Anyone using any third party programs for quick 3D importing in flash MX?

I'm currently trying Swift3D, and have seen Plasma working but i'm interested in hearing more about anything about this topic :)

Anyone has had something to do with these programs or the like?
Any 'Reviews'? :D

Let me know!

I'm using plasma.
It's a cool 3D program, but it's much too expensive.
If you have experiences with discreet 3DS max, it is the best program.

Is plasma a lot like 3DS? I know there from the same company. But it's just for web right?

I think it uses the same interface and can do almost anything 3DS does, isn't this the case?

A friend of mine tried it and he managed to do some really cool stuff so i was wondering if it was worth the money to buy it :p

yepp. plasma is the web version of 3d max.
-the functions are nearly the same.
-the layout is also the same
you can design in 3dsmax and export the 3d-scenes to plasma to render them in flash

Are you sure that Flash is used to render the objects? I think the rendering is done by Discreet, like in Swift3D...

rendering is done by discreet Pom, you're right ;)

Just got hold of an eval copy of plasma :)

Yeah, well, that makes sense, as Flash completely SUCKS at rendering stuff :)
Anyway, please tell us what you think about the software

It's 3DS ok!
It has all the actions and capabilities 3DS has.
It exports for Flash.

I say it's good :)

If you plan on doing complicated stuff it will be heavy though...
I tried a complex scene of only 6 seconds at a frame rate of 24 and it got over 4MB (with no crazy renderings too.. :p)

Anyway i find this a bit better than Swift, easier to use
