Hey all,
I'm trying to build a menu such as the one seen on http://www.dnastudio.com . Really, it's just a normal text based menu, but when you move over one of the menu items, a little bar will follow your mosue around from item to item.
Could anyone point me towards a tutorial or example file of something sorta like this?

lol..it's a Super Man reference (it was Clark Kent's day job) :)
So I managed to get an object to float around in a line like I wanted by adding this to the movie clip. So far, so good. Now I just need to figure out how to control where the movie clip stops.
The example I've attached will move exactly where I click parallel to where I click. That's 90% of what I'm trying to do. THe last part is to try and get the clip to snap to the center of the link. Any tips?

Quick (and minor) update, I went throught the tutorials section armed with the name of this effect and I think I found something I can use to get the effect I'm after here -

I'm making some of the final tweaks right now and I'll post my source files for anyone else to use if it works :)

Thanks for the help on this subject, but here's my request. I need help with this same type of idea but could I get the motion to be activated by a mouseover on a button and could I get the movie to start out at a certain location instead of at (0,0) and then have the movie move back to where it started on a mouseout or something? You understand what I'm saying? Thanks.

You're welcome. I figure I took the time to make the darn thing so I might as well let people know about it. :)

Yes, that exactly the direction I'm going. Now I just need to figure out how to return the movie clip to the original location after a certan time.
