Where can I find a database builder for people to interact and talk to one another and search for other people with the same interest. It has to be .PHP
Thank you :)

Um... I am not sure what you are asking... :D
If you are asking some tool that can help you to build/manage the database, there is one called SQLyog that can be found at http://www.webyog.com/sqlyog/ but this one is more likely the first hand tool... Another one is called WinMySQLAdmin...

CyanBlue to the rescue :D
I want one like this one FaceParty (http://www.faceparty.com) but in .PHP language where people can pay if they want to or not.

Well... I guess that is totally different issue then... ;)
Um... I don't know... The simplest thing I can think of is to issue username and password with the users who have paid or change the 'level' of the user if they pay... And next time when they login, see what level they are in and give them access privilege and such???

What you said is exactly what I wanted but where can I find a program that does this :)
CyanBlue

Um... I don't know... You will have to program it??? I have no idea if they sell scripts like that, but you could try one of those places like hotscript to see if there are any available... ;)

you won't find a program that does that...
you'll need to hire or trade somebody to do that for you...
let's just say that faceparty was either the work of some devoted individuals or it was a really expensive project somebody paid good money for...it's very nice...
or...learn some coding stuff...it's not as hard as it seems...php is great...jv

Thank you Veska. I have found the system I wanted and it's in .PHP I can install it myself and I think it may work great. It's $169 but it may be worth it. I am gonna go for it :D :) Thanks for your reply ;)

Hm... If the code is doing what it is supposed to do, then I don't think $169 is that bad price... ;) What is the name of the code, and where can we get more information on that??? ;)

Here is the website and code. Tell me what you guys think of it :) Click Here (http://www.prophp.com/matchmaker.php)

The package itself doesn't look that bad... Besides, it is fairly customized to run the match making stuff, so I guess it will do what it says will do... ;)

Ok, if it didn't work out, I don't think I will be able to return it because it's a code and $169 is a lot. What should I do  :)
CyanBlue

Well... I don't think you can return the code... :D
In the beginning, I thought that you just want to have a tool that does database jobs, but I think you are exactly pinpointing yourself towards that match making stuff, right???
The only option you have is to look for somebody who actually used the code from that vender or similar and ask what they think about the software... Or, you can start emailing them and ask specific questions to evaluate the software by yourself... If you ask them if the software can do this, and they say yes, and if you cannot do that when you actually got the code, then you have something to tell them... Know what I mean??? That's all I can think of... ;)

Well, it is on hotscripts.com and has been given a review. One bad and two good. I did e-mail them and asked five questions. When they return with the answer I will show you what they said and you can give me your opinion :D It's PHP and I installed PHP before with no problem but I am just think if it doesn't work out then I will loose that money :(

Just make sure the server you're going to have the code on gives you database access. It probaly stores everything in a MYSQL database and if the server dosen't have or allow you to use MYSQL then the program wont work. If it's a PHP database you may want to find something else, I've been told by several people that they aren't all that secure or as efficent as MYSQL.

I asked them and they said it's 100% PHP and I know how to work with PHP. They also said after 30 days that is it didn't work I can get my money back.

From their site:
Requires web hosting with PHP4 and MySQL support
So you need a MySQL database made from your hosting service. Also they may not have MySQL installed on their servers.
But it's good they have a 30 money back garentie.

That means the script will require the host that runs PHP and MySQL database which will be pretty common whether they are limited in number of database or not... Just make sure that the host you are to get supports that capability... That's all there is to run the script... ;)

well...make sure you know how to deal with permissions on things as well...
money back guarantee if it doesn't work?
do they mean if YOU can't get it to work...of if THEY can't get it to work...i'm willing to bet they could install and run in 5 minutes...
be sure you want this thing...and that you are ready to deal with trying to customize things to be exactly as you want them...not knowing really how to write php could provide major headaches for you...
good luck...vaska

You truly do look out for people don't you :D
I am still interested and will always be untill it works. I was just looking at it before I received your link. I am thinking of getting it because it looks very good and easy to configure. I did promise you that when I set it up and the community gets bigger and bigger, I will need someone to help me maintain it and *YES* you will be paid monthly :)

Ah... Finally some sort of paid job... :D
I actually have to do some work at the moment, and I was not really feeling up to it, so I was just browsing the forum and saw you reading this thread... Well... I didn't know what you were reading, so I've read it as well to find out what this thread was actually about... and I remember seeing that script mentioned some time ago... So, I've googled it and I was able to get the link... That's all... ;)
Now, should I go back to what I am supposed to do or should I goof around some more??? :D
Warrior
