Hi all,
I know the site looks like pant's (going to update the look later), I'm after bugs if there are any really with the left navigation and any ideas people may have to improve or jazz it up.

Hi there,

I didn't see any bugs in the navigation. You have lots of cool stuff. It makes me kinda jealous, I wish I knew as much actionscript as you. Maybe in the future. Keep it up.

Peace. ;)

very cool, i see you are in great command of actionscript. the layout is nice, although i have been seeing this 8 bit 80s style graphics for a while now, just curious, what the reasoning is. I have seen alot of design and you can really notice a fad when you see one, and this definitely is. It looks good dont get me wrong, just curious.

Also, there has been talk of books that are good for actionscripts that help, and i know a few people on this forum know other types of programming, just curious where you learned your actionscript or do you know others and are just bringing it over. Also if you used any books that could be helpful

keep up the good work

Thanks for the input.
as for the design, i'm new to the design stuff, I'm a programmer who liked what flash could do and thought, I want to learn this.

I do javascript, VB, Java and Database stuff for a living so the actionscript wasn't to bad to pick up.

but books, yes I have read nearly all of the friendsofed books and recommend them to anybody. http://www.friendsofed.com

getting back to the design, any tips???

cheers

email me at peripheral@h8tml.com and check out http://peripheral.h8tml.com for an effort similar to your post board.

my version isn't working yet. I'm using php and flash and I've only been doing this whole programming thing for about three months - any language.

as for the design: green is a little much I know the grey is rally overdone (and I'm guilty of it three times over) but for a site whose purpose is to showcase other work is a valid trespass. other than that and the fact that some of your text isn't "on the pixel" (which is what makes pixel fonts anti-alias) it looks pretty good

oh and THOR O'reilly's ActionScript: The definitive guide by colin moock is a book you cannot live without!

Your action scripts are certainly cool.

As for the design i agree with aesthete about the colour, particularly that Green!! Also, i went cloking through your message, news linls etc. and i have to say that i think you should attempt to maintain a bit more consistency with your windows. Some took up the entire width while your news windows were unneccessarily thin.

Just somethings to think about.
