Sliding menu with (working) buttons

Hi there,

I'm having difficulties with a sliding menu. I can't seem to get the embedded buttons to function when a mouse rollover action is assigned to the menu. I can get them to work when a mouse is pressed anywhere on the stage, but that's no use really.

All I want to achieve is a menu to slide out at an angle when a mouse passes over/or presses it. The buttons on the menu can then be pressed to take you to another section or movie.

It is so simple that no book or reference has covered it! I know it will be laughably simple but I hold my hands up and take the laughing. (I'm new to Flash).

I have attached the files so you can see where I am at.

Can anyone help?

hi, okay i have duplicated the problem and messed with it on my own.

part of the problem is that as soon as you assign actions to the clip. the buttons do not respond. now i have tried this with your file and it does the same thing remove the actions or rollover and you will see that the buttons will respond

now you got me sitting here antsing for an anwser.

i thought i was frustrated with the dynamic menu i was doing this is making me feel silly.....lol

Thanks for having a go anyway. For some reason when I started I thought this would be the easy part! lol

Anyway I'll keep you updated on how it goes.
