I know everyone wants to disable cache, but I have a homepage that I need to cache. When the user goes to a HTML page and then comes back home, I need the SWF not to load all over again.
Thanks!

that is automatic. as far as I know you can't specificially state that the borwser should not re-check for a newer version on the server. IE and NS both just check some of the data and if the file appears to be the same it loads it from cache...

I guess I am trying to find a way to get it so that the page does not go through the preloader again. When I come back to the page, it starts with the preloader and then actually loads the whole page again. Is there any way around this?

like I say, it depends on the user's setting. My IE is set to reload from the server every time, and not use cache, so as a result, any code you implement will have no effect on me... I don't think there's anyway to specify that the document shouldn't be reloaded from the server. sorry.
