I posted a request for this in one of the other forums, but haven't received anything of help yet (though the suggestions were appreciated!)

I have some geometric shapes on the side of the stage. The user can click one and drag it out to the "main area", but I want them to be able to drag another then another if they want, so the original shape needs to stay where it is as they drag copies from it. I want to use dragging instead of clicking a "click for another copy" button cause well, I like things better that way.

I understand duplicateMovieClip and startDrag (check out wdtn.com/carlfun for the first thing I used them for). But so far, I've only had to drag a single copy of a shape.

A tutorial on dragging and duplicating multiple copies from a single shape would be MOST appreciated!

Take care.

Let's see...
What about one tutorial to learn how to use the flash 5 "_root["something"]... " instead of the old flash 4 "eval(stuff)..."

or flash 5 "_root.myMovie._x=250; " instead of old flash4 "tellTarget, bla,bla"

just to keep every code and coders in here up to date( in terms of sintax ).

C'mon it's been just 4 months since i start to use the flash 5 sintax for all my works, is a hundred times easier to use, but seems that not all people understand it (even some older coders)...so i think this is a good idea for a tutorial.

i believe those topics are covered in the path and advanced path tutorials.

my last post was just an example...i think there is no need to use a mix of coding flash4/5, when you can do it all in flash 5 style, and trhu this, give support to the extent of flash 5 plug-in use...good for all of us!!! don't you think so, "tg"?

...the tutorial have to clarify the translation to flash5 of , at least, the most used funtions.
