specific zooming

We are laying out HUGE maps in the background - viewable through a transparent window. We are trying to zoom in on these maps with a blip to show where they must go - we can get it to zoom but not so that the x, y coordinates that we clicked on are still in the centre of the screen with the blip still on the right spot? What actionscript or function would do this - with out putting the blip back AFTER resizing... it must stay visible??

I recently made a project about the solar system, where the planets needed to animate, and then zoom on one. I found that because Flash zooms based on the centre point, i couldn't just zoom it and try to move it to keep it centred.

What i did was move all the guts of the solar system movie clip so the planet to be zoomed on was right over the centre point, and then scaled that movieclip.
