Click on the first and second spheres in the main stage....
If you are trying something like this, you can do it with a .png image (PNG for the transparency) of a lighting and aplying some twins and transformations to do a MC.

manuaelarean is correct. That is one way of doing it. Another way to do it is to create two or three versions of the lighting. One - low power, Two- medium power, Three - high power. Then flip through them in a random fashion. Apply a mask with a tween and you can make it look like lightning is striking something. I would make an example but I busy as tits.

yes you can use images in photoshop in flash. Just save them as a .png file with transparency if you intend to use the transparent channel. Or save it as a gif.. transparency has worked for me with a gif. But I am not well versed in using images yet. Play around with different images. Take the one that you want to use and save it in three formats using different variations of compression and formats...namely JPG, GIF and PNG. It is a hot debate as to which file format is better, I tend to think that each is powerful in their own way. Gif's for images with low color variants, JPG's for high color variants, and PNG for transparency preservations.
