A few months ago MTV had an image on their page, it consisted of a solid colored image (Ex. blue)
When you passed your mouse over the cover and block would fade away exposing a graphic. The mouse caused one block to move away, If you moved it fast enough you could uncover the whole picture.
Is this a simple button effect? If it is how would you get a fade to work between the "up" and "over"?

i haven't seen the effect, but i assume they just had a movie clip with the fade in their over state, it is that simple, or if they prefer action script they probably used a on (rollOver){setProperty();} hope it helps
