Particle Cloud Effect.. How can I?

I'm trying to make a greenish cloud effect with Flash like this:

Now the key thing I'm trying to do is make it seem to "Rise" from the ground, as if it's particles coming out of the floor in a bunch of random dots..
like this..

Whenever I motion tween, the particle stroke turns into a solid regardless if I convert it into a symbol or not.. Hrm, I'm not really sure how I can animate this effect.. I'm more just looking for where I can maybe learn something similar to animating this..

Thanks! :D I really didn't learn it from anywhere, I learned parts of the code from AS.org and played around with it one day and came up with that.

Thats from the family's Mac. It displays what I'm playing in iTunes. Problem being I haven't used iTunes since I got this computer last week. Its from www.listen-to.com and its actually really interesting how it works. Anyway, I need to go and download the winamp one...

I'm not too sure about that name... I was just thinking up names and my tech friend just kept shooting them down :p, and he had a neutral response to I AM COLIN... so I figured that was pretty good. And I suppose its kind of an interest catcher, i know if I saw the link www.iamcolin.com I'd be curious as to what it was.

BTW: Adrenaline, you should see this guys site. He wants it to remain private for now, but I need to show you it :p gimme a PM when you read this, its not quite done, but the pages that are up there now are quite original.
