I exported an image from Illustrator 10 as a GIF (so there's a transparent background). Then I put this GIF in FlashMX to do a simple animation with. Then I go file/export and choose Animated GIF. My problem is that this animated GIF does not have a transparent background no more. How do I fix this? Why is this happening?
Cheers

File > Save For Web
In the dialog that pops up, select GIF format and their is a checkbox for transparency.

Re-read the post again
It's transparent when it comes into flash. When it leaves again as another GIF it is no longer transparent

ahh crap! hehe.. I did misread it. I need to quit smoking that cheeba :D
Anywho, go to publish settings, put a check next to .gif and select the .gif tab. Your settings are in there. Make sure you got transparency checked.
If ya did all that, which you probably did. I would take the gif you exported and export it as a png with transparency. A work around that just might work around.
