Hello,
What's the average salary of a Flash Developer with a Flash developer certification?
More specifically, what salary can a Web developer with 3 - 5 years experience, expertise in ActionScript and Flash, and a Flash developer certification expect?

Thanks for moving this to the appropriate forum...it's much appreciated.
I actually realized after I had posted this, that I posted in the wrong General forum...I tried to change it, but couldn't figure out how.
May I ask how you were able to move the posting to another forum?
Thanks.

And I'm surprised that someone with 3-5 years experience should ask this. I mean, you should know better than us. Unless it's not yourself you're talking about. All right, all right, I'll shut up :(

Depends on those three magic words...
location, location, location

Answered the wrong question.. I need to quit smoking that cheeba :D
Vilehelm is correct. Location is where it is at. Working for a company in Pikowikkocho, Mississippi will not compare to a salary in New York, New York.
Where I work my salary was based on salaries in the same area code. Our business recently moved to a location with a higher cost of living and thus I received a substantial increase in pay. Which works because I had to move to a new apartment and the rent is 1/3 more.

Yes, I know.. I know :( Me and a friend worked together, actually we met at work and he taught me some stuff and I taught him some stuff. He however took his smart ass to college (RIT) and got a job with motorola..clearing 80k and got a BMW 330i. You can view his website for his car www.330i.net . And I stayed at home, no college. However he is currently out of work and says that things aren't looking up for him in NY. I'm currently working on starting my business so I can hire him. He is very good with design.
Yeah Shinjo (like the avatar) local has alot to do with it. Though Richmond is fairly large.. larger than Fellsmere, FL. Where I started.

Haha... I heard that Chantilly or near places such as Reston is not a bad place to work... It's just that it is not easy to get a job around here thesedays... That's all...
So, what's your money making plan, sho shinjo??? Share it with all of us so that we can build the ActionScript empire... :)

step 1....?
step 2 .... take over the world
step 3 .... watch the money roll in
as you can tell I am have problems with step 1 it just does not seem to be coming together for me....
:D
for real northern VA is not bad, but like you said it is just hard to find a job in the area... to much competition among designers and companies know this so you get low balled on a salary.... :(

please dont bash me...but I am sort of both a developer and designer...and I dont find many folks who are equally both...I work in high end code (backend, server, and as) AND has a heavy fine arts background...so I am usually a pretty good oddball whereever I am...
...but, recently I have been asked to go F/T with the company I am working for right now and I am really tempted...though I make a prorated 150K/year...what is the average asking price for what I do in NYC?...I have about 10 yrs experience...

:) so I got a new job... :)
I am happy as a fat kid in a candy shop right now.
No more production art work (to a point) and i am respected here. After being in the field for all most 10ys and having a 2 yr pit fall to dig out of. IT FEELS GOOD...
I more living check to check, eating off the $1 menu, working 50+ hrs a week and not making $30k.
I get to go back into designing and developing and not 90% CSS, html.

the pay is good, plus the cost of living here is cheaper than the beach. It balances out to be around $60k if I was still in the VA beach. I was barely making 33k at my old job and with chance of advancement it was time for me to leave.
