a couple of changes, better performance from player 7 (nothing faster machines can handle, and pretty much everyone has a machine thats over kill for internet usage),
different lexical tokens, mx bugs fixed (lets face it - we shouldnt be paying for that!) and a brand new splash screen and interface?

is it worth the money they are charging for it?

yeah right pull the other one !:o

were there MX bugs fixed?

... either way, there seems to be a lot more now anyway.

and the flash player is free to download, thats not dependant on the version of Flash you're developing with.

The biggest advantage of FMX04, IMHO is the extensible IDE. Asside from that, its crap. Im sticking with plain old MX.

were there MX bugs fixed? Are they supposed to be??? If they were, there will be no bug on this planet anymore??? :DAsside from that, its crap. Im sticking with plain old MX. Ouch... My stomach hurts... You made me laugh so hard, senocular... :D
I can't really say it is a crap or not since I have not tried it myself, but as far as I've read from others, it ain't good enough to be called as a newer version...
But then, we'll move on sooner or later, I guess... Oh, well... Some day... ;)

:D

Ok, 'crap' might have a bit exaggerated ;) there are some other nice new features, but nothing *needed*. At least not with how I use Flash. Its just a bigger, bulkier, slower development environment that slows my ability to do work. I mean, granted, when new pluggins, tools, commands start surfacing, it could increase productivity a little, but for the most part, I dont see anything coming out that would help me deal with the interface now. Its crowded and takes about 10 times longer to load than MX. Besides, clients aren't going to want to support ver 7 swfs for a while yet. Even 6 at this point is still a little iffy. I can manage with MX :)

The current FMX takes long time enough to give me chill under my slow 700 system, and then there is no way I'll try 2004 until I get the new computer... Besides, clients aren't going to want to support ver 7 swfs for a while yet. Learning the new scripts is one thing, but we gotta deploy our products out there and this upgrading the flash player issue is really a turn off for the clients... :(
I know this is probably bad idea in the long run, but why not MM make the Flash player upgrade automatically from the beginning??? Then we do not need to worry about at least one problem... :(

u could just recompile ur kernel to use those instructions on your cpu to help run the program faster.... aahhh the joys of linux :)
did u know mx runs faster under wine than windows (assuming u are using dri)
