anyway, this program has been a staple on mac, and now Apple has ported it over the windows.
Tell me what you think of it. I think it owns winamp by a long shot.

Um yeah... Winamp. It's very small and is the least processor intensive music player out there as far as I've experienced. I have a search plugin where I can type in any string and it pares down the list as I type, then I simple hit enter... Oh yeah, ease of use and very little overhead on the workflow.
Oh yes, not to mention you have the option of hiding the taskbar button when you minimize it. It's a workflow dream.

Annexion, search is intergrated into iTunes. You can organize by genre, view by album, rating, play count. Radio is also intergrated. You can burn cd's right from it, and it keeps a list of the cd's you have compiled, in case you want to burn another copy in the future. Blah blah blah blah blah....
But we are talking about two different platforms and I haven't used it on windows, which is why I'm sticking to the mac. It runs better than WinAmp for the mac...or macAmp whatever you wanna call it now. Which there is not a OS X version anyway.
I'd stick with winamp for windows though, who knows what Jobs put in there for Bill :p

There is a file-sharing section of iTunes, that used to let you share across the internet, now it only lets you share across your network. Besides there are better programs for file-sharing.

For those new to iTunes, the downloads from the iTunes store (mp4 format) have a locking mechanism, you can share them with like 4 other people or machines and that's it. The ones you rip straight from CDs you can share with any number of people.
The sharing feature is nice in an office environment because you can poke around in other people's libraries on the network and listen to their tunes. I work in an all Mac office and the only bad thing I can say is sometimes your machine will slow a bit if you have a lot of people glomming on your music library.
Never really tried WinAmp to be honest.

I heard winamp on the mac side really doesnt cut it (never used it on mac, always use iTunes on mac). Though given mac itunes and pc winamp, I prefer winamp for playing. iTunes is great for the store though.
