Top of the morning to most of you,

I've got a bit of client / freelance work, basically it's a big print finishing firm. They do big big contracts, BBC, ITV, etc in Nottingham UK area.

I spoke to the director and he has a repeat of same contracts, so therefore he thinks there is no need for a site because of having the same contracts.

I'm trying to come up with something which basically will raise the percentage of income for the company.

All firms like a bit more money :) Im just stuck on different proceedures on how to target this.

seriously guys, inspire me

sowwy! ;)

Basically, I'm stuck..I've got to prove to this client I can create him more work from having a website and other promotions.

Ok...a company has a website...the internet is so big that hardly anyone will ever visit it. I need to make sure I can get traffic online which then will more than likely get the firm abit more work.

I've took interest in finding how much advertisments on vans, local buses etc etc but this all comes with a huge cost. I need low cost solutions to get this business more work. Best way to show how good the company is, is to put information up via internet...but then how do I get interested Clients/busineses to view this site?

all comes down to traffic...

solutions to advertise / promote this company ??

Please if you dont understand a thing, just ask...

tell him to market his product for gods sake! Everywhere theres the company name, theres the website address. Make the website handy for people to use, so they'll keep coming back.

Are you looking for ideas for the website or ideas for marketing the website for him?

Ok, you guys do not understand...

basically, I have to prove to him by having a website he will get more unique customers.

Firstly, I have to give him the reasons why he should have a site and then I've got to make sure he gets the traffic which will get the company market!

HOW?

I've looked into advertisment but could be too much...so looked deeper into submitting URL's to Nottingham searches, such as yell.com, dmoz.org, kellysearch.com etc

I have to get the right traffic...

Don't know how well this will work with a "big" client but you can give it a try.

Call up your phone company. Tell them you want to place an ad in the phone book. Get their pricing info. It's usually quite high priced stuff. Want colors? Twice as much. Top corner? 3 times as much.

Now go talk with your potential client. Explain how you can add a simple web address to the phone ad to provide 1,000 times more info in color, motion and sound at a far lower cost by comparison. Then explain that some people don't even use the phone book anymore, the web is their first choice when looking to buy and a having a website will expand their customer base. Explain how YOU are better than other ad mediums as you're easily attainable and more responsive to their needs. If they need their logo changed from blue to red you can do it in 5 minutes. Compare that to making changes to a print ad and the benefits become clearer.

While the above examples refer to the phone book, you might get better results by comparing the web to other advertising venues which your client is already using.

Stress cost, impact and efficiency and you might do alright.

the advances of a website:
a website
+ can offer a lot of information (much more than any ad)
+ is often the first thing a potential client will check to learn more about the company
+ is the cheapest form of advertising
+ is a kind of portfolio
+ can provide a positive image of a company (a positive image is what attracts clients most, and the best way to make a contrast between you and other companies)

by the way: it isn't important how many clicks a page gets, it is much more important how many people who might be interested in it, find it

Exactly, that's why I posted this thread, I need the right channel of traffic and how do I persue that? I have found a few goodies, click search with google...somebody seaches some keywords which I specify and then the add will show, but I need certain % of hits which will channel for more business.

Thanks for the information PixW, may take the concept up.

Basically, they finish all the cuts, bind magazines / folders together, laminate all different sort of things to finish high printing products off.
