Online Sound building.. sites

I see a site where people can build their sounds using existing sounds...

also they can save at the site..call it after a time...
probably they use database at back-end.. with may be some serer side scripting..(eg asp,php etc)...

but i need to know how they controls the sounds..
is they use some component...

any tips/hint guide.. thanks
