I just wanted to stop by and say a big hello to my fellow flashers... It's been a while since I posted on this board because I've been incredibly busy, but I missed you all and wanted to say hi!

After getting somewhat burned out running Zero Factor, I started searching for something new. I ended up joining the volunteer fire department and what a blast that has been!

So, my time has been largely taken up by the fire academy, training and what not, dealing with clients, playing a bunch of raven shield and I also got into a new hobby... PAINTBALL!!

It's pretty sad when you don't have time to design anything because you're so busy running a design company

By the way, has anyone heard of a content management system called phpNuke...?? If you haven't heard of it, it's an advanced content management/web site builder. It's a pretty cool way to get up a portal site quickly. I have built two sites with it, both took me under 8 hours to get up and running/tweaked.

You can get it at http://www.phpnuke.org

Anyway, I hope all is well with everyone and I hope to get back to these forums a bit more.

Good to have you back thpii, glad to hear things are going and going well, sounds like you have your work cut out. Paintball, classic - i have only played twice before and it was great fun.

I was going to crack a really sh*t joke about there being some really really hot sites in this forum, and you joining the voluntary fire services, but i shall abstain from such appalling one liners.

Hope to see you around here in the future.

Take care buddy.

Regards, snapple :)

Hey thanks mate! Hey I forgot to mention that Zero Factor is this months featured site at Fonts for Flash http://www.fontsforflash.com/. That was a nice surprise for us! :)

Cheers,

2 nice sites you got there, and oh yeah, I've heard of phpNuke. Very usefull tool eh?

Hows the design company coming along? I just had to do a project on running a business in a selected field *I chose computer animation* and was wondering what its like...

BTW: Great site (www.zerofactordesign.com/), I loved it. So simple yet effective.

Perhaps we should delete this post and i will restart it as a nuetral cool sites poster :)

Keep up the good work.

Colin,

If I had to be completely honest with you I would tell you that if I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have started a design company.

My wife and I sold our house to get the startup money for it (roughly 30 thousand - everything we had), and it has not been everything I hoped it would be (I mentioned getting burned out in my first post). If I knew then what I know now, I would have used the money to buy another house and just gone and worked as a designer for some other company... :\

Snapple,

You bastad! :)
