A sample would be great Ive been trying for 2 days now but cant seem to get it right- ive had help before and used tutorials but it seems im struggling with generating multiple text fades like the web site below

U can do it with motion tweening with alpha fade.(no programming needed) Create multiple layers for each text...then animate them. I will give you a sample .fla for details in tomorrow. Now i have to go sleeping:)
