Hi there,
I am new to this forum and having a problem of course.

I can't make "mailto:[email protected]" work.

I am using Flash MX 2004 and I have tried so far with getURL command, regular links work but e-mail sending just doesn't.

Even the plain horizontal text can't be linked with mailto protocol..

Am I doing something wrong, is it because of the player or publishing???

Please answer, I have asked the same question at MM forums and browsed for help, but without success.

Thanks.

No, the file could not open,
I get a "not a Win32 application" message!? I use XP Pro.

All I got from searching the same problem topics in this forum is that there is no solution actually.

You cannot launch email client from within Fplayer, only from the browser.
Strange...

Thanks for the effort.

Strange...

you can...it usually opens a browser window first and then goes to the email client and creates a blank message

are you saying you couldnt even open the file I attached?

No, it won't open.
As i said, I get an alert message window about file "not being a Win32 app".

I couldn't even link a simple text to launch email client,
I will try to make some custom function perhaps, but it's a long shot.

BTW, I am browsing your tutes, nice....

Here it is...

http://www.members.lycos.co.uk/divarch/mailto.fla

It only works from IE, it doesn't work from the player.

Edit
I have managed to open your .fla but it doesn't work also.

The code is the same as mine, hmmm....
