ripple effect

good day, i am hoping you flash animator/actionscripter gods might be able to help me here, i have this swf file that shows off a cool ripple effect that follows your _x and _y mouse positions. i really have no idea on how to do this, i've been at it for hours, maybe you guys can shed some light on it, thanks in advance

I think this effect is made with mask and duplicateMovieClip. But when i tried it didn't work(i had this problem before).
Hope i can work it out.:)

i know what you're saying baby annie, had the same problem when i was trying it, but is it possible to make the ripple mask follow your _xmouse and _ymouse by using setmask() instead of masking the layer. i just thought of that, didnt really had the time to try it yet, but if you know it would save us time :D

pad: i don't think you can make it follow your mouse if you do it like that, but thanks for the tute :D

ey guys, i've come close to this ripple effect, i need help , i dont know how to leave ripples on the stage as the mouse moves, hope you guys can help

hello, baby annie, i tried to incorporate your scripts to mix it up with what i have and i cant make the duplicate mcs masked. hope any of you guys can help me with this, thanks so much :D
