View Full Version : Help with loading a movie

I have created a movie with a very large picture in it. (i.e. 200px*4000px).

I have set the movie screen size to be 200px*200px. The movie is played so that only 200px*200px of the picture can be seen.

This works ok if I play the movie on it's own, but I want to load this movie in a separate movie (say 800px*800px). When I do this I see more than the 200px*200px of the picture.

Is there any way I can restrict the amount of the loaded movie I see to 200px*200px?

maybe you could try making a 200*200 mask in the movie you are trying to load?

Thanx for your help but I cannot put a mask around it. There are buttons, other movie clips, backgrounds etc. on the main movie. If I mask this movies I don't see them.

If you have any other suggestions they would be very much appreciated.

can't you put a mask in the original movie? the 200x200 one?

There are buttons, other movie clips, backgrounds etc. on the main movie. If I mask the movie i am loading into this main movie i won't see all of these. I need to see all of these.

Get it!

I did read the original posts and I don't see why what I've suggested is impracticle. If you load movie a into movie b it's going to cover whatever was underneath it in movie b, that's just the way it goes. if movie a has it's own maks, when loaded into movie b it obscures no more of movie b than it's contents (excluding the mask which has no effect on movie b) and the mask prevents undesirable content in movie a being viewed.
