I generally spend the most of my browsing time on Design Showcase forums... www.theroot42.org www.howdesign.com/forum/ etc...

This place is packed with helpful people, and thought a showcase for users to get feedback on their projects would be a perfect addition.

I'd definitely like to see it added, how about everyone else?

Howdy... ;)

That sounds like a good idea, but I am having some problem visualizing the difference...
Since you brought it up, can you tell me the difference between that Showcase forum and our existing 'Site Check' forum???

Thank you... ;)

I guess I just saw that as being for functionality only.. Do people post there for a critique on aesthetics as well?

Well... Me personally don't go to that forum for various reason... Why don't you go check it out yourself??? Some of bright and design oriented people 'sorta' live there, if I remember correctly... ;)

I'll move this thread to the General Chat forum... :)

Yes, in site check your website will be criticised. For functionality, ease of use and aesthetics.

not to hijack the thread but I would like to see an intiative where users critique each others code. Because there is almost always another way to do something, and I don't know about other people, but when my work is criticised I feel that I learn a better lesson because it is a real world example.

Just my half cent.

I like that idea web. It sounds like something for the justForKicks section. You might start a challenge with a very specific goal and maybe even post an swf somewhere of what the final product sould look like. Then when everyone has re-created the dummy, you could see how each person tackled the challenge. It would be a good way to have people critique your code because they could say "well where you did this, I approached it this way......" or "these two methods are very similiar, but person x's approach is much more effieicent because.......". Just a thought. I'll lead by example, well sort of. If you throw one out there, I'll agree to support it and join in. Maybe we can get a nice long thread about how to do something a number of ways and figure out what the best way, if there is one, is to do something.
