I have a continuous scrolling background in a MC and I was wondering if there is a good way to make it totally seemless. If I watch very closely I can see a very tiny pause as the clip goes back to frame 1 to start playing again....
Is there any way around this?

How are you controlling the loop process is it just a gotoAndPlay(1); at the end of the clip ?

yup, the gotoAndPlay(1);
I didn't really know another way.

post the files or a better explanation of the main stage, like for instace is the background moving within a movie clip, or on the main timeline...etc
this way i can understand better what sort of set up you are trying to achieve and may be able to help.

all of the stuff is on the main timeline because I was just making a sort of test. I had a background that I made and then covered it with a black layer with two 'windows' cut out of it. That way, it looks sort of like the scene you would see while watching from a moving car.
Included the file. (the action that was on the last frame, gotoAndPlay(1);, doesn't seem to be showing but it still works as if it's there....don't know why)

ok firstly this is FlashMX....
Secondly i have done very little to it, the problem as i saw it was more an optical illusion, let me explain what i did.
Basically i just masked the scrolling clip so you dont see the outer part jump from right to left.
Then i tried ramping up the frame rate, that is low man.
You had it around 4 i think i personally i use only 15 or higher but for sake that you may need it slow i changed to 5 and then added a tween easing toward the end of the main tween.
I think personally it has no real visible jump now.
Also if you stick the frame rate up higher it runs even smoother.
Of course there are scripted ways of doing this but i like to try simplist option first.

Sure just have a look for em im sure there are tons, if you find a decent tute on how to make a scrolling menu then just modify the code so it runs constant rather than following mouse movement.
Look on this site or Kirupa.com or the many good sites that these two link to.

adjusting the frame rate helped quite a bit. I couldn't notice the pause after that.
