Flash player detection ?

I've flash player 7. But when i open some sites (required flash player6 only) it go to page, no flash player detection. What's wrong? Is it their script problem?

it may be their script.
ive seen some scripts that say roughly:

if not version 6

instead of if < version 6.

the first would fail for player 7.
