Component size

I got my hands Flash MX 2004.
I haven't played around much with components but I decided to add a combo box to an animation and I found the animation leapt up in size from 4kb to 59kb. I'm hoping that I'm doing something really stupid. Any suggestions on how I can lower the file size while using components?

macromedias components that ship with 2004 contain a lot of 'features' like focus handling, and themeing. You should only have to take the bulk of the hit when you add your first component, since they reuse much of the same architecture.
