Okay... Another dumb question for anybody who wants to grab... :)
Is it correct that if I make a Flash movie in FMX 2004 with the AS 1.0 and have it publish for Flash Player 6, then anybody who has Flash Player 6 SHOULD be able to play the movie, right???
Well... That sounds logical to me that it should be working that way, but one of my coworker's Mac and another PC didn't play the movie, so that's why I am asking the question... :(
As a side note, I went to MM site to find out that they don't have FMX trial version download anymore... Dang it... I guess I am forced to stay with the 2004... Don't I hate it??? I am sure that I am not going to use AS 2.0 since the final product will be pretty much for F5 and F6, but I don't feel good about this... Oh, well... :(

this may help
before starting your work, set the publish setting to what ever u want
open it>> flash tab>> chose the player version, even with AS2
then all the restricted script would turn to yellow and it won't accept wrong ones

Hm... I tried it as well... Okay another dumb one, farafiro... :D
(Yeah... I just got up and I definitely need some coffee...)
What's going to happen if I have it publish for FP 6 and select AS 2.0??? Is 2004 going to translate all the scripts back to AS 1.0 and publish the movie??? I think that's what I have read before... But if I use some new features in 2004, then I cannot publish it for FP 6 like the one with the component issue when FMX was first came, right???

sounds right, but I cannot say that it will translate the script
I think that MM modified the latest releases of the player to accept some
donno
but they keep saying that it will accept the new AS2
me, think it will not let you write un-compatible script but will accept the new look, way to write it

I cannot really remember who it was... But it said that AS 2.0 will be translated into AS 1.0 so that it will be working on FP 6... Maybe I did not pay much attention or maybe something else...
I'll fiddle with it... Thanks farafiro... :)

I think I should have the FMXsetup somewhere, if you want it, just scream really loud or something...

Um... Okay... I know that this one is five month old thread, but I still don't quite get it... :D
Some of the end user have F5 and some have F6 Flash Player installed, and they CANNOT upgrade the Flash Player because it is for the school...
What is going to happen if I use some component that strictly use AS 2.0 sytle script??? Would I even able to publish for 6.0.79.0 with that component???

I mean go to MM's site, get a license for distrubuting the Flash player (it's free), include it with your project, and u can then run it automaticaly if the flash detector brings an older version

Um... The end users does not have authority to install or update their Flash player... It's good that you can distribute the Flash player, but I am not sure how that can help my guys... :(

The end users does not have authority to install or update their Flash player
so, u r stucked then
the only solution then - IMO - is to publush it as FLASH5
