Did U use MM's exchange to enlist it in the panel, maybe?
I am sure there's way to delete them also, just figuring out.

Anyway, since I've also spend last couple of weeks with comps and classes, I was just wondering, what you were doing, what kind of experiments, types of components, etc...

Just curious..:)

thanx for the reply~

did u mean Extension Manager ? it cant help because i didnt install the comp with it but copy into the component folder directly. ie, i controll the swc file not mxp one for installing.

and about my experiment, just simple test on creating components, :D i drew some shapes which would be converted into shapes components :D yea i knew i succeeded when i see the comp's icon in component panel but the problem is how to remove it from that panel... any help ?

Yes, that's what I meant, MM's Extension Manager.
I have no clue so far, on removing it from the panel, but I think, components created to work with EM, have an option inside EM to exclude them, e.g. delete them.

I am sure someone else will give you more eloquent info on the topic, I was more interested in your work.

Cheers

for i know that Extension Manager can only work with mxp file not swc(or it could ?), but unfortunately i create the comp with Flash help the swc one, and i searched all places but find no way to delete it, mmm............. :(

anyway thanx

Yeah, I'm having the same issue. It's so annoying seeing those 'ancient' components I once created still lingering in the component panel eons after having deleted them already. Just can't get rid of them, hope there's a solution though :).

How it is?
Did you just see the component name but no more its pics.
Did you look inside xml file?

Perhaps Flash put the component name inside a xml file I dunno.
Just an idea...

Yeah, you're right, Flash stores this info in xml files somewhere I think. Wouldn't know where they are though .

I think as u create a component, flash stores it in three places (folders):
ComponentsFla (for the Fla)
Components
Classess>> MX (The Classess)

So, u should look up in all of these folders

Hmmm....my dreamweaver (mx) doesn't seem to support xml file search, but perhaps I'm just missing something . Did find any relevant xml file xxlm?

The actual component is only stored in the component (sub)folder, but there are nodoubt aother references out there used by mx2004 to populate the panel. But where...........:).

C:\Documents and Settings\{your login name}\Local Settings\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash MX 2004\en\Configuration\Components\My Components

A copy of all the .swc files are here. Delete it from here and it leaves your flash too.
