actionscript 1 & actionscript 2 are compatible?

i mean, do they work well together? if i use actionscript 1 on one swf, and load an swf into it, whcih uses actionscript 2, and vice versa, does this work?

I'd have thought 2 was pretty much the same as 1, but with extra stuff. In terms of loading one into the other, it would have more to do with the player than the swf. If the end user has player 7.0.whatever, it should work a charm.
