When your ftp window is open, first of all make sure that you re always uploading your CGIs in ASCII mode (most ftp softs do it automatically), and then you can probably do a right-click on your cgi-bin folder and then CHMOD.
there, you can manually set it to be at least 755 for CGIs I believe... but most CGI's folder are already set like that... Make sure that Read, Write and Execute are allowed as well.
menu 'command then 'file action' then CHMOD for Cuteftp which I recommend. or ctrl+shft+A.
take care

have a look in your menus in dreamweaver ftp extension, there must be something called CHMOD...

contact your system admin or info on how to do this. it's very different on different systems. You will have to log in via your 'shell' and use the UNIX chmod command. Again, ask your sys admin how and where to log in (if you can, not all hosts let you).
