I purchased a top of the line 2004 model second hand PDA from a friend and it has FlashPlayer 6. It can handle most things fine, but the stylus is quite annoying. It lags a bit and with it there are no rollOver features, only press.
Ive also had a few problems loading external txt files and code with pHp.

It completly depends on the device your are using. Most PDA's that support Flash utilize player 6. But smart phone's for example, like nokia series 60 devices, support only Flash lite which is more like Flash 4. For more information on this checkout this site: http://www.flashdevices.net/

Macromedia (www.macromedia.com) has a guide to all the common problems with flash on the PDA and smartphone. I think that can provide you with the info your looking for :D
