Fading Clips Slowly

OK, first of all, HI! I love the forum... anyways...

I was working ona simple menu with buttons and I can't seam to figure out how to get the things to fade out.. its like this:

I have a button on the bottom that should fade out the text that is above (just a mc). But every time i try, it just quickly dissapears...

HELP ^_^

Here's what i have for the button:

count=95;
while(count>0){
setProperty("AboutInfoText",_alpha,count);
updateAfterEvent();
count = count - 1;

You need to use the frame rate of the movie rather than the power of the PC.
The loop will take no time at all to run.
You could try setting a variable(var) in your function that is checked by the movie you are trying to fade, when set the movie alpha as before but this will then use the frame rate of the movie.

on Clipevent(enterframe) {
if(var == 1) {
this._alpha --;
}
}

I can not believe this is causing so many problems lol...
