General Announcement

If I am perusing the "ActionScript 2.0" Forum, I am indeed assuming that anyone posting in there is using MX04.

If I am perusing the "Flash MX And Lower" Forum, I am assuming that anyone posting in there is using Flash MX.

Please post your questions in the appropriate place. I have been seeing more and more posts of users posting in the AS 2.0 Forum and then someone is kind enough to attach a .zip but then the user replys with something like:

unfortunately I couldn't open the .fla, I was getting an unexpected file format message

Well, OBVIOUSLY the .zip contains an MX04 file format since you posted in this forum and thus, you, dear user, have posted your question in the incorrect Forum.

Just a friendly reminder...
Thank you for your time...

Yeah... We cannot really assume anything at a time like this... :(

I am doing what I can do to move the threads to the right forum, but there is limit I can do myself... I think we need to be more deligent and move the posts to the right place... Though there still is limit to do that... :(

I think we should ultimately say that post your question to the right forum or you'll be sorry for that... :p

At least one additional reminder when posting a new thread would be nice...

@tg: I did think twice about 'assuming', but geez....I have to believe there is SOME intelligent life out there, don't I?

@CyanBlue: Common sense should prevail. If a Forum is marked 'CheeseSteaks', I'm not going to ask a 'Vegan' type question in there, am I?

Perhaps I am being stubborn here and don't want to believe that people (users in general) are just plain stupid. Case in point: Button says 'SUBMIT' and the user asks me, "How do I get the results?".

~slaps forehead.

Common sense, people. Let's put our thinking caps on.

Yeah... I know... But we all know that not many people actually try to use their commen sense here... :(

maybe we need a [wrongfileformat] tag like we have for [ crosspost ].
it could say something like:

you have posted a mx2004 file in the mx forums. please replace this attachment with the appropriate file type, or move your ass over to the correct forums

I think [fart] should describe that tag line better... ;)

An AS programmed robot to hunt down crossposters and wrong file format uploaders ? That`s a bit ... drastic don`t you think ? I`d rather tag I guess.
