View Full Version : Job In Australia
Hi there.
Since people can go in AUS with an easy to have 1 year visa and work there if they want, I wondering if it's easy to find job there.
In fact I'm in New Caledonia, it's a small french island near the east coast of AUS (2 hours by plane). And I wanna move a bit (a lot!!!). So I think this visa is a good thing. You can "taste" the country before doing something really serious.
So this is a CALL.
IF SOMEONE NOW WHERE I CAN FIND LIST OF JOBS OR CAN BE INTERRESTED TO HIRE ME EVEN FOR A SHORT TIME PROJECT, I'LL BE INTERRESTED.
I CAN GO THERE EVEN FOR FEW MONTHS.
I JUST NEED $$ TO LIVE IN THAT'S ALL.
So if you have contacts, or if you are interrested to hire a 25 years old french guy to do Actionscript (as1/as2), php/mysql, or whatever tell me pls.
Just reply this thread and I'll send you a pm with my mailbox.
C you.
PS: I hope this thread will become BIG... héhéhé...

I think I saw some Job offers in the Employment section in this site
Thx faffy. I've seen them... ;)
I really wanna move. I need to find something to do there.
My ticket is not so expensive (like 800$US) but I need to find a job before going there.
Hope to see you there one day faffy... :)

theres a catch to the aussie thing, as far as i'm aware u can only hold a job for 3 months at a time with the Visa, after that u gotta move on :(
Sure?
Even with the new 1 year visa?
I know that this visa it's pretty new.
Will re-check this...

what this about shoes?
OH, nothing. I have just ordered shoes in USA. But oline shop don't ship outside of USA. And thoses shoes can be find only in USA. So I have ordered them and sent them to boyz adress. And he sent them back to me... :) That's it... :)
Anyways I hope to find a job in AUS.
Cross your fingers for me friends. ;)
But I'm not in hurry. I have all my time.
Ah just to question to Billy T. A friend of mine told me that it's hard to find a job cuase Australian people prefer to hire Australian people. They don't really like foreigner. Is that true. She was in New Castle. So perhaps it's this town...
What's you view?

It's kinda true here in the U.S too...but it really depends on the employer
It's just that...it cost money for employer to hire international workers. They have to sponsor the employee and pay for the visa...
But like I said, it depends on the employer....
For example, my friend who is from Nigeria, Africa...he got sponsored by E&Y (big four accouting firm).
Where I will work/start (theVangaurdGroup) in July, they don't sponsor international workers :(
But goodluck....
X, I emailed the Post Office place about the tracking number...they told me that it's not gonna do much....for me b/c it's an internatial mail. *dam...the customer rep told me to buy insurance too...so that I can track it. *grrr
I'll get more info., I hate when people don't know what they are doing...
Oh there is lots of Flash Job there.... :) :)
(lots is more than one for me).
I know there is lots of people too :/
... I need to redo my website... IN ENGLISH with new design. ASAP

yeah stay away from the smaller towns...unemployment is generally higher there and so is the intolerance
As long as you're not a starving, desperate refugee you should be ok though...just try to act as 'white' as possible...some Flexpandable Stubbies (http://www.stubbies.com.au/Tropicals/Flexpandable.asp) might help
I'm being facetious. Go to Melbourne or Sydney and you shouldnt have any problems.
cheers
LOL. What are thoses ... hmmm ... things? Does every developers need it in your opinion? That's true that staying siting down front of a screen all the day long, is not so good. Perhaps when I'll be a litttle more old than today... Like hmmm 28..?
Anyways thx for the advices Billy T.

those 'things' are convenience, comfort and style all rolled into one...and they will improve your personal developing skills as much as the mac Flash player has revolutionised the web...(and the chicks dig 'em)
LoL. Ok Ok. Will test it asap then... ;)

Australia sounds like a woot and a half, you should have an awesome time if you get the opportunity to work there (never been, but I want to take a trip there sometime)
I'm sorry campbell. I don't get what you mean by "a woot and a half".
I think peharps the language could be a problem for me to be hired. I'm not enought good in english I think. But I'm sure after 3 month talking everyday english, I should be ok...

Um... Why do you even bother to go there, boyz??? You won't have problem after that??? Hope everything is okay... :)
some Flexpandable Stubbies might help
I'd love to have that at work... I am supposed to wear semi casual which pretty much limits my pants to the khaki pants and it's not really comfortable when you have to sit in front of the computer all day long... :(
I'm not enought good in english I think.
No worries... I am surviving here... :D
But I'm sure after 3 month talking everyday english, I should be ok...
Um... That, I cannot tell... I've been trying that for the past 10 years and I still have problem... :(

Fortunately for me I am a US citizen.
The company is really great. The corporate environment there is really nice...at least where I had work. The people I worked with were great. And I'll be working with them again. :D

xXlm, it's just an expression
I just find it funny that you didn't know what Colin was saying....b/c of the cultural difference.
......
For example, my friends and I are always congrats each other if we excel or do good in something (ie. a programming course),
we would say to each other "You killing it."
Which means, your doing good in the course....kicking people asses and being number one!
Someone how is not familiar would take it literally...
you know what I mean?
So it is kinda funny
yeah ok I get it...
Is ok now. But I got it is an expression but just wondering what it means... ;)
:p
C ya
oh just seeing the campbell post. all apologies...
Oooops...

the campbell post
I like the sound of that... the campbell post.... :)
with the voice of a little girl, looking at campbell from under, moving her feets, and touching her finger: "hey master... pls answer my question... Just one post pls... I would like to know..." This is the vision I have now campbell. Happy?
LOL
