Boy I feel like such a bone head, but I have tried to make the Scrollbar work 25 times and I can't get it to work.
I created a Dynamic textbox then I attached the scrollbar to it. Then I published the movie and the scrollbar just acts like a graphic that does nothing. I can see the  text but I get no thumb scroll and the arrows don't work. I followed the MX book but I still can't get the blasted thing to work.
Please tell me what I am doing wrong.

Utt oh !
I don't know if the .fla made it. I don't see it. just in case it did not post here is what I did.
1. I made a dynamic text field on the main time line.
2. I named the text Var
3. I opened my actions pane, named the Var , and listed the text
4. I pulled a scrollbar from the library and attached it to the dynamic text box on the _root.
5. I checked to see if the Insidence name on the scrollbar propertys macthed the text box.
6. I published the movie.
THe text shows up, scrollbar matches the length of the textbox however it does not scroll and there is no thumb button.
is there a way I can post the .fla? the only AS I used was in the text Var.
I am not so good at AS so I used the drag and drop from the library.

You need to ZIP the FLA file and post it since FLA file is not allowed to upload... ;)

Well... Do not use variable name for the textField unless you are exporting your movie to F5... I think that's the root of the problem...
I just got rid of the variable name and use it as an instance name of the textField and assigned the text to it...
Then, I got rid of the scrollBar and attached one from the library again and it is working... :)
