Hi,

I just noticed that Flash seems to distort jpegs while exporting. Have a look at the attachment to see what I'm talking about. The image displayed at scale 100% has a really ugly thick border in the upper right corner while the opposite corner doesn't have a border at all. I 'solved' this problem by rescaling the image to 99.9%. I found this tip somewhere on the web. But I don't really like this way of working... :(

Does anybody know what causes this distortion? Or has an other solution...

Really? You never had this problem?
Do you have any idea why I see the pictures distorted?

Thanx for the reply!

Yeah, the SWF file pretty much look good to me as well...

Maybe that has to do with this issue???

It doesn't look funny to me either, but the edges of the 99.9 one looked blurry.
When things look distorted to me, I always try putting it on a whole pixel. Like you would with pixel fonts. I make sure every movie clip within a movie clip is sitting on a whole pixel. And especially with images, I make sure they are always displayed at 100% And I import BMPs whenever it's possible, and let Flash handle the compression.
Maybe that will help?

I find that Flash can handle PNG files extremely well. And since PNG supports transparency also, it’s ideal when importing pictures.

Oh (laughs). Sorry, I didn't realise what you meant. Yeah Fireworks is the creator of the png format, - I just wasn't too sure what you were implying, but now I know. :)

Just for general information, either Macromedia or Fireworks are the creators of .PNG format...

.PNG (portable network graphics), is an old format created for internet, but the pour support make (especially by IE) that this format don't have succes (even with its ability of 256 levels of transparency)
