Italy, Italy... Nobody's seen them play and they're among the favorites. I don't know about you guys but I'm quite disappointed by the "good" teams so far: Portugal was terrible, Spain was OK, England and France were not that good...

By the way, my personal favorite is the Czech team :)

it must have been the most intense game since man united vs. real madrid in championsleague... the ball moved more from left to right than on a tennis court. Great socces eventhough I didn't see all.

The ref indeed let some things happen that couldn't have, but if he would have given all the cards he'd had to give it wouldn't have been that intense.
Penalty was actually no discussion about it. it should have been two!

the greatest mistake was that from the dutch trainer, by changing robben for bosveld. Robben was creating danger... He was'nt satisfied at all to be changed, he was working his ass of with really great soccer, you could put him next to Davids or Nedved... they were great...

Holland:Germany 1:1 (not a bad game at all, but I think they deserved to win the game. still quite boring)
Latvia:Germany 0:0 <-incredible game! Most boring game of all times. Latvia had a some kind of 9 men defense row +1 keeper +1 centre forward.
once the ball got near the goal it got kicked away by one of the latvians. :rolleyes:

@Stimpson: enjoy the game Holland:Latvia, I guess it will become as boring as the other latvian games :p

One thing about the latvian soccer players is they just have no chance to get a chance to score, nor to win any 1on1duel...that wouldn't be a problem at all, but they know about that, and solve those problems with a superior number of latvian players surrounding the latvian penalty area.
Latvia doesn't even try to build up a game, they just destroy any enermy attempts, and are extremely good at that. :D

I think germany just underestimated Latvia, like Holland underestimated Germany and Czechia.

I actually enjoyed Germany - Czech Republic. Germany deserved to win, but as always in that kind of situation, they didn't. I hope (for their sake) that they do better in 2006 :)

Well, we had our final exams pram tonight (just returned from there), and some guys had telly with them, and they told the result of the game to anyone passing.
I was busy doing other things you are supposed to do on a prom ;) , so I didn't really get much of the game at all.
there was a frech girl called Marine, but she didn't really care about the result because she was already drunk by that time, and hitting on my little brother (who is really becoming some kind of player concerning girls).
