Hello!
Does anyone know if using actionscript to animate will run slower (look clunky) on slower processors?
I have a fairly large swf file and want to animate with actionscript rather than manual, but am afraid some processors will not be able to handle it...can they?
Also, I have a lot of really intense vector drawings in my movie -- should i convert those to jpgs to save file size?
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!

yes, for reasons unknown to many people, Flash will, in fact, run slower on slower computers. To know how your movie holds up, the best thing you can do is test it on older machines.

As for your images, depending on their use and how complex they are and how big they are when viewed, it may, or may not be benefitial to convert them. Thats something else you'll just have to see for yourself. Convert one and if it is in fact smaller, it may be the way to go for the rest as well.

will the movies run slower if they are animated with actionscript, manually, or does it not matter?

thanks by the way.

you have slightly better performance with manually animated movement, but its so insignificant it probably wouldnt be noticable, even on older machines.
