Stupid question i'm sure, how in the hell do you re-center or auto center the "center of gravity" or snap to circle in that's suppossed to be in the center of an object :)
What do you mean by "center of gravity"? Are you refering to the registration point? You can go to Window>Align and center your object that way.

Hi' I have explained myself badly. 1) Draw a square in the stage area 2) Convert to symbol (graphic). At this point a circle appears in the center of the object, when moving it around the circle can be moved away from the center of the object, how do i get it to return to it's default position, i.e. the center of the object......thanks mate, :)

Drag the little circle into the center of the object again, i think so.
Double click on your object, align it to the center in the way I described above. That should do it. Or if your talking about the one you can drag when you do a free transform (transformation point), just drag it back to the center like Baby Annie says or double click it.

1. Double click the rectangle.
2. Chose the rectangle
3. Open Aligh window, check the align to Stage
4. Align center horizontal, then Align center vertical
It should work :)
Yeah, what baby_annie says should work. I forgot to mention that you have to align to STAGE. Here are some things you can check in the Flash help files as well to help yourself: Align, transform, registration point, transformation point.
