skinning v6 scrollPane to look like v7

I d/l'd a custom component based on scrollPane. It extends the FSCrollPane class and looks like the older version of the FScrollPane. I opened the Flash components .fla file that comes with flash and grabbed the scrollPane assets for the new (3D) version of the scrollPane and dragged them into my library. So what I want to do now is make my custom scrollPane look like the new one. But the new one has so many more MC's that make up the parts of the scrollpane that I don't know where to start. Can I just over-write the old mc's with the new ones?
