ok so I asked this elswhere and got confused.

I'm fairly new to Flash, and in looking through the tutorials I found one named Relative Scrolling Content and Navigation (http://www.actionscript.org/tutorials/intermediate/relative_scrolling/rel_scrol_1.shtml). it's pretty close to what I want to do (my content will be going up and down instead of left and right)

so I followed the tutorial till I got to a point where I'm scratching my head for a moment till I realize this thing was not written for Flash 6.0.

now my question .. is there any gurus out there that might point me to a place where I can learn to do this effect using Flash 6.0?

this one is done in flash 5 and should work also in flash mx or flash mx 2004...
belive me it´s working fine with flash 6 :D

older code could always be interpreted by higher versions of flash...

Yep, post some code where you think the trouble is, use trace() to locate them, and you'll get the answers for your prob.
As cobo said, that nav code could be adjusted, 'cause it's fairly simple.

Good luck and welcome
