Particle FX Dissovle

Anybody know how the menu dissolve was done?

I am guessing it was either by photoshop frame by frame or by doing some type of masking with a particle fx. (I have seen another one done with a water ripple effect - but can no longer find it.)

Is there something easier to use or do to create that kind of particle dissolve effect? Or would it be something tedious as to really create the animation sequence frame by frame in photoshop?

It's very nice. :) I guess it's After Effect. Try search the forum with key word "After Effect".
