Perhaps use the standard fmx2004 progressbar? Usage is explained in your reference :).
i don´t mean a preloader progressbar... i want to create a bar wich controlls the timeline... together with a play/pause button.

Oh right, I thought you mean tthe initial loader. Depends on what kind of movie it is I think. for a real movie you could use the media component, and for frames you could set something up which listens to frames playing :).
ok... so there is no default bar existing wich comes together with fmx2004... :(
is there fla existing somewhere? i´ve searched the forums and movies section but without succsess...

PS: I´ve visited your rockagainstsuicide site and wonder if you could tell me the name of the band who plays the song "story of my life"...? nice track... :)

hey cobo! :)
I think it was a group called Big Time Pop (from Portland, OR), but their site http://www.bigtimepop.com/ does not work anymore. :(
I'll be glad to give you the original MP3 I used for it, let me know (5 MB).
huh... mp3 would be nice... :D
could you send it by email ?

Hey cobo, could'nt the fmx2004 Media Components be of any use for you? I think they will do the trick. Not sure though, but perhaps they're fmx2004 pro only... :).
i use fmx2004 pro... :)
u mean to display my movie as a swf through the media component... i thought they only load flashvideo format... ?

Hmm.. yeah I see you're right, so that would'nt have any use for you? Haven't worked much with them unfortunately. There must be some tried solutions around for this I think. Perhaps you could make the movie progressbar inside the swf itself, so that it can react on the frames. Not really a scalable solution though, especially when dealing with multiple swf's :).
yeah... I think there should be a kind of prototype existing... it could be seen very often and i don´t think that people will code it over and over again... so the task is to find those... :D
hopefully my client will give me the time to do the run & search thing...

Well, that thing become interesting for me and I've tried to make it by myself. Of course this is not prototype you're searching, simply another try to make it. There are 2 versions of the controller: the progress bar only and more complicated version vith control buttons.
You can check it here:
