How can I make this volume slider?

I really, really like the volume slider on http://www.janemonheitmusic.com but I do not know how to make it!! I understand how to make a slider, but I do not know how to make it so that the slider changes the color of the volume bar when it goes down/up. Also, this slider does not have a dragger, so I'm not sure where to incorporate it (if I have to). Where do I start with this?! Any suggestions?

it looks like a mask with a white bar behind it that is the "slider" as opposed to changing the color of the bar.
