*External picture as background

hi,
I had made a movie that has a main_picture.jpg which is used as background and has its own effects so I wanted to know if I can use a button which imports an external picture as background and replace the pictures with each other and nothing happens to my movie and this new picture has the effect like the main one.

You can load in external .jpg's.

Note that the above is one sentence.

Its difficult to understand what you asking for from you description, but you can use a moveclip as a placeholder for all the background.jpg you want to load. you movieclip.loadMovie("pathtoimages/image.jpg"); to load the various .jpg images.

a) Sorry, mate, but personally I give advice and hopefully through a push in the right direction you will be able to solve the problem yourself. I refues to actually do the work. Unless, of course, you have given it a go and are really stuck.
