How to do this transition ?

How to do this transition ?
especially the click on 3rd image. its like burn effect done in photoshop.
I have see the last code here in forum which was exclusively done in Scripting. But it was more complecated and calling that burn effect function was more of pain. Is there any simple way to accomplish such a nice effect ?
Ofcourse where in scripting is involved in this ?

my first thought was: brightnes-tweening...which should be quite simple.

Are you asking for an alternate method besides scripting? You could tween it if you prefer.

Select a movieclip on the stage. In the property panel hit 'advanced' then 'settings'.
On the right hand side change the 'R', 'G', 'B', 'A' to 255. Then create a new keyframe without the advanced settings and tween the frames.
