Flash Sounds

Hi i was wondering if anyone knew of a program to make sounds. i have seen many sites with different effects and all their sounds match perfect with what the effect is about. So i concluded that they make their sound.

Actually, I've recently started adding sounds to my animations at http://www.talesofthesamurai.com .. the program I use? Windows Sound Recorder, and anything around me that I think will make a good noise. Then I take them into Sound Forge for some tweaks.. so for the monkey one, I recorded my own voice as a monkey, then made it a bit higher. That said, my audio work has a long way to go..
