Hi,

In the process of animating a shape I noticed that Flash likes to add vector points to shapes. I made a circular object out of 4 anchor points and when I moved it to another location and selected it again it had 8 anchor points.

I tried Optimizing it but the shape remained with 8 points.
Also tried changing the Editing Preferences with no luck.

Is there a remedy to this? I'm trying to make the shape transform into something else and don't want to manipulate more points than I need.

Some help or at least a comment that I have to live with it would be appreciated.

Thanks

hmm
just a sugestion
4 anchor = 1 circel
8 anchor = 4 (90DEgres steps of a circle) = 1 circle

The circle was just an example but I'm trying to make a shape grow and change in a particular way. It's really irritating when I change the shape and Flash keeps adding anchor points because it makes the shape change in a way that I don't want it to. The shape will distort instead of just moving anchor point to anchor point between tweened frames.

Similar to a sillouette of a flower coming out of the ground and blooming.

This program would be so much easier if it didn't take hours and hours to learn the terminology.

I figured out that you can easily control the transition of shapes by using "Shape Hints". Up to 26 points can be referenced to make transitions more smooth. They solved my problem.
