For me to learn (in my opinion) FLASH. I think I will check out others sites and find effects/ideas that I like and try to reproduce them so I understand the mechanics of such an effect. And when I cant figure it out..I am going to post the question here..and where I found the effect so others can maybe understand and learn as well. The first one is at
http://www.xeofreestyle.com/ from main menu, portfolio, Flash...and the "VANGUARD" effect the looks like a movie projector jumping around. Cant figure it out.

Second question: is from http://www.01-la.com/# When you enter the FLASH site watch the intro. There any many video clips here that I dont understand. But the main questions form this site are:...1. all the "blinking" effects. the text comes in bliks,..changes to white..the slides out. The real blinking effect I want to know how to do is...when you see the headphones and the chair images appear..then the image changes to white and blinks out.! That is really the effect I would like to learn.

The nest question is about the home page from http://www.2advanced.com the movie (.avi maybe) of the cloud loop. 1.is the "bridge" thing a .gif graphic with certain parts cut out? Or this some sort of masking technique in Flash? (Never even tried to make a mask yet in Flash) 2.How do you add video clips like that to your movie? Does Flash have movie editing capabilities?? Do you import a .avi/.mpg clip or something??

The last question come from 2advanced's site also..when you click on portfolio (as its loading) you'll notice three squares (2 little 1 big) appeare..hollow...outlines if you will,..then an image slides in diagonally. How is that accomplished?? Is that a mask also?? How can it be if the outside of the outline squares have images and text that can be seen through it?
Also..is the a tutorial on how to make a mask?? And some effects that can be schieved through masks?? Thanks

So if some of the MODS can take the time to look at all these effects (I know it is alot) and shed some lights and how to's I would really appreciate it... Thanks. -whispers- whispers007@hotmail.com

The vanguard is just a MC animated by hand. On different frames the test has been positioned differently and no motion tweens have been used so it jumps instead of slides into place.

The video clips are just sequences of gifs run together. That blinking effect, again, is done by hand. It's just one keyframe of white about the same shape as the image. It's pretty basic but time consuming stuff. The frame rate for the movie is also huge.

The 2Advanced animation whcih appears through the sky-light (bridge) thing is doen with masking. It's jsut a continuously looping sequence of images which are run together in an MC to look like an AVI. Flash hasn't got AVI editting capabilities but I think it does have import capabilities.
